When God Rebuilds a Woman (week 1: day 3)
Welcome to the first week of diving deeper into the IM.Possible conversation. This season we're talking about rebuilding from the inside out, which is necessary to experience real healing and real growth. Each week, I'll be giving you some tools to assist you with your rebuilding process. These tools are rooted in the word of God, which gives us hope, strength, and power. So, let's dive right in.
Week 1: Day 3- Building on a Solid foundation
I'm not going to start this one off by being nice and sweet, because as I was studying, I didn't feel like the bible approached this matter in a sweet way. In fact, the bible straight up calls us fools for thinking we can build something solid without God as the foundation. And it's not so much of the foundation itself that makes us foolish, but it's our lack of obedience to Gods word and our habit of thinking we know better than God.
And honestly, most of the time it's not intentional. It's not like we walk around with a mindset that we are wiser or that we have a better understanding than God, but our actions can definitely show that.
Matthew 7:24 begins by showing us that it is not just about listening or knowing the word of God, but it's also about following and applying it. So, when we decide to read a scripture or passage like 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 that tells us exactly what love is and we accept or even portray the opposite of that, and still call it love, then we're clearly walking in foolishness.
The word of God not only creates a solid foundation for us to stand and build on, but it also anchors us when we actually apply it and live by it. His word is full of instruction, and we are advised to seek Him in everything we do. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight."
So often we make our own decisions and then ask God to bless it, but that's not how it works. We are supposed to trust God enough to seek his direction and follow His guidance. This is how our foundation becomes firm enough to withstand everything that life may attempt to throw our way.
I urge you to continue diving deeper into Building a Firm Foundation by looking into the listed scriptures below. Leave a comment and tell us what revelations God has revealed to you during your personal time of study.
